n8n

Source-available workflow automation with native AI agent nodes, MCP support, and a self-host option.

Overview

n8n is a node-based workflow engine that runs as a hosted service or on your own infrastructure. Its AI nodes wrap agents, tools, memory and vector stores as first-class steps, so an agent can sit inside an ordinary automation next to webhooks, cron triggers and database writes. It exposes workflows as MCP servers and consumes external ones as tools. Workflows are JSON, versionable in git, and extensible with custom JavaScript or Python steps.

Why it's indexed

The pragmatic answer when an agent needs to be one step in a wider automation, and the team would rather self-host than hand a vendor the credentials.

Editorial judgement, not a measurement — see our methodology. Listing is never paid for.
