Windsurf

Agentic IDE with Cascade — an agent that tracks what you did across the session, not just the current prompt.

Overview

Windsurf is a VS Code-based editor whose agent, Cascade, keeps a running model of the developer's actions — files opened, edits made, commands run — and uses it as context for the next request without being told. It executes terminal commands, applies multi-file changes, and connects to MCP servers. Available as a standalone editor and as extensions for JetBrains and other editors.

Why it's indexed

The clearest example of an agent that carries session-level context by default — useful to compare against prompt-per-turn tools.

Editorial judgement, not a measurement — see our methodology. Listing is never paid for.
