Supabase

Postgres with auth, storage, realtime, and edge functions in one open-source platform.

Also available as an MCP server

This page covers Supabase the product. To let an agent talk to it over the Model Context Protocol, see the Supabase MCP server.

Overview

Supabase wraps a real Postgres database in the services most applications need anyway — row-level-security-backed auth, object storage, realtime subscriptions, and edge functions. For agent work the appeal is that it is Postgres underneath, so an agent writing SQL is writing ordinary SQL, and row-level security is a genuine authorization boundary rather than a prompt instruction.

Why it's indexed

Row-level security gives an agent a data boundary the model cannot talk its way past.
