Neon

Serverless Postgres with database branching and scale-to-zero.

Also available as an MCP server

This page covers Neon the product. To let an agent talk to it over the Model Context Protocol, see the Neon MCP server.

Overview

Neon separates storage from compute, which makes a database branch as cheap as a git branch. That is unusually useful for agents: give a run its own branch, let it migrate and write freely, and throw the branch away if the result is wrong. Scale-to-zero means idle branches cost nothing.

Why it's indexed

Branching turns a destructive agent migration into a disposable experiment instead of an incident.
